Whoa! Obama's approval rating down to 41% in just released Gallup: Disapproval at all-time high of 53%

From Eric Dondero:

Welcome news for conservatives and libertarians this Monday morning. Obama continues to reach record levels of disappointment among Americans. Over the weekend, three day running average, Gallup now has Obama at a stunning 53% Disapproval. That is an all-time high. Approvals are at 41%. That's an enormous 12% gap.

See the chart at the link.
Gallup tracks daily the percentage of Americans who approve or disapprove of the job Barack Obama is doing as president. Daily results are based on telephone interviews with approximately 1,500 national adults; Margin of error is ±3 percentage points.
No reporting of this yet in the national media.

Must not fit the template?

How's Congress doing these days? Something like 8%% With the republican team working hard maybe 1% to 3% is a distinct possibility by Thanksgiving.

To answer the question: the approval rating of Congress is at an all-time low (11%), as is the less frequently asked approval rating of people's particular member of Congress (44%). ALL incumbents should be forewarned. Although nobody is saying it (and I'm not saying it), with these numbers maybe the House flips Democrat and the Senate flips Republican.

But, the connection between Congressional approval rating and subsequent elections is tenuous. Congress had an all-time high rating in 2000, and the Senate flipped (from Republican to Democrat). The Congress had a near all-time low of 19 in 2008 and stayed Democrat.

Basically, the trend during the Reagan years and during the Clinton years was up; and, during the Bush 41, Bush 43 and Obama years are down. My interpretation is that its easy to be a Congressman during good times, and tough during times bad times.

There's plenty of reporting of this in the national media. But, unlike here, they also mention that republican house members are almost down to single digit approval. Which you have decided doesn't count.

If the US had free elections the two parties would be replaced.

Perhaps one day, and this is a big if, the American electorate will actually educate itself and stop listening to and following the loudest
(and dumbest) politicians at the podium.

jj5 - Do you actually think media reporting today is unbiased. Void of agenda driven platitudes? Truthful and reliable, consistently?

You may be on to something Gary.

Most of these polls are manufactured lies intended to affect the votes of elected leaders. Their intent is to confuse, not clarify. It's a perennial tactic of the institutional left.

Rational Nation USA said...

Institutional left, hmm, how about the institutional right?
