REPUBLICAN Sen. Ted Cruz now inspiring LIBERTARIAN PARTY candidates to run for office?

Apparently, there's a dime's worth of difference between the major parties, after all

From Eric Dondero:

Wow. Now this is an interesting development. What ever will this do to the "not a dime's worth of difference between the major parties" meme often espoused by Libertarian Party diehards?

Meet Dan Anderson. According to mywesttexas.com, "Young, libertarian Midlander runs for mayor":
[Dan is] a student at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin and has lived in Midland all his life. He graduated from Midland High School in 2003.
And he's now a declared candidate for city council in Midland, Texas. He offers the standard libertarian fare, with a couple hardline additions:
In line with his small government ideology, Anderson would want most of the issues that the city is currently tackling -- water, roads, housing -- to be handled by the private sector, out of the hands of City Hall. He added though that the complete privatization of these industries could be decades away because Midland is rapidly growing. The only city services he sees as essential are police and fire department.
And down at the end of the article, this gem:
“Midlanders are moving, along with the rest of the country, to a next-generation small government,” Anderson said.
“There’s definitely a libertarian streak going on right now in the Republican Party with obviously people like (U.S. Sen. Ted) Cruz. I don’t see that type of choice represented in the race. And that’s why I decided to run, to give people that choice.”

Midland is a terrible place; but I wish him well.

Hey, thanks for the support! I was incredibly nervous in that first interview and have had the chance to refine that message since. I don't know why "fire department" came out of my mouth. That could absolutely be provided privately.

It's been a learning experience, that's for sure!
