I watched the two Superbowl games yesterday. The one before the blackout and the one after. In the first game, the 49ers were stomped by the Ravens. In the second, assisted by the unscheduled break in the action, the 49ers came roaring back and might have won the game except the refs quit early.
Here are my ratings:
Pre-game: loved the kids
Half-time: Beyonce was a class act
Commercials (as a whole): trite
Best Five: Dodge Ram "Farmer", Audi "Prom", Oreo "Library", Go-Daddy "Kiss" and Coke "Mirage". (The latter blasted by liberal special interest groups for allegedly portraying Arabs in a bad light.)
Announcers: mediocre
Game itself: surprisingly good
Final note: A short-term boost for 2016 Democrat presidential prospect, Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley?
Editor's note - Good, now that the big sports event is over, and we've given our obligatory Super Bowl coverage, we can now get back to our round-the-clock, 7 days a week, Bob Menendez coverage.
