FAA cover-up in Bob Menendez case? D.R. media alleging many more flights to the island than being reported

BREAKING FROM THE SPANISH-LANGUAGE PRESS...

Many people from high society [in the Dominican Republic] are talking, in private, about the many private social activities of the Senator at the Casa de Campo. -- Fausto Rosario Adames, director of Acento.com.do

Some journalists in the Dominican Republic have come to suspect that he is reporting fewer trips than that which has been made to the island. Fausto Rosario Adames, director of Acento.com.do, an Internet newspaper that follows issues of government transparency, said: "The generalized version of the story in the Dominican Republic is that Senator Menendez has been in the country with frequency, and came here incognito in private flights, and played golf and had fun. He even participated in some birthday parties for friends and family of Solomon Melgen ". Many people from high society are talking, in private, about the many private social activities of the Senator at the Casa de Campo.
Editor's note - Translation mine. Lean towards the literal translation side, which may at times seem not in the manner of a typical American English speaker.

Exit question - So, where in the hell are the members of the American media?  Why aren't they down there talking to these "people from high society," to get the full story?
