Utah company fires Obama supporters

3rd company in Mountain West to "Go Dondero" since the election

by Clifford F. Thies

A Utah company, in the forensics business, fired two employees because they supported Barack Obama for President.

From Jobs.aol.com, "Utah: Terry Lee forensics fires Obama two Obama supporting employees":
After the president's reelection, a Las Vegas company laid off 22 employees, claiming it couldn't bear the burden of Obama's health care law. A Cedar City, Utah, employer also laid off two workers because of the law, and the boss claims that he chose the unfortunate souls because they voted for the guy responsible for it...

And it's legal... Most employee in the U.S. are "at will," which means they can be fired for any reason, as long as it's not a specifically prohibited one. Under federal law, only race, color, religion, sex or national origin are unlawful reasons, and only in five states -- California, New York, Connecticut, Colorado and Mississippi -- are employers forbidden from firing workers for their political beliefs.

In most of the country, you can't fire someone for worshipping the devil, but you can fire someone for leaning to the left.

The Salt Lake Tribune published a story on Wednesday about a Vernal City smoothie bar (photo up top), called I Love Drilling, that charges liberals more for a drink. Terry Lee, owner of Terry Lee Forensics, applauded the decision in the comment section:
"Love it. We had to let two employees go to cover new Obongocare costs and increased taxes," Lee wrote. "Found two Obongo supporters and gave them the news yesterday. They wanted the idiot in the Whitehouse [sic], they reap the benefits."
The president of the Utah forensics company, says he had to trim two workers from the payroll because of the extra costs of Obamacare, and he knew these two had supported Obama. He figured it was kind of justice for those two to pay the price.

Unfortunately, he put his thoughts onto the internet where, even those he later erased them, they were captured (as everything on the internet is); although, as far as federal law is concerned, it is not illegal for a small company such as this one to dismiss employees for their political beliefs.

Besides supporting Obama, the two employees had unidentified performance issues, says the president of the company.

Don't they all?

Aww, the president should be kicked in the shins! Who cares if they are "underperforming"?

"I am the boss, I decided I wanted to fire them because they voted for the moron who is trying to kill my business. What else is there to know?"

As Breitbart used to say, "Never cede the high ground"

So, to cut through the bullshit, this guy (and you, by extension) are enemies of liberty. You are against people voting the way they want to, so you are blackmailing them with their jobs. You are fascists, and if you ever got into power, within weeks you'd be banning voting against the way you want. Because remember, it doesn't matter what the people think. Democracy means only what Eric Dondero thinks matters. LibertarianRepublican.net: Proudly promoting dictatorship since...I dunno, when did you guys start this site?

Oh and this guy is going to get slapped with a (well deserved) wrongful dismissal lawsuit. Just thought I'd give you a heads up.

When it comes to voting for Obama, I don't see much difference. At the same time, it was stupid for the guy to gloat about it on the internet. This meets the definition of hubris and that act deserves punishment. In old days, it was punished by death.

Its legal to sack someone for political views

It's not legal if it's against the law...I worked for a state funded agency and my boss hated me because I wasn't politically correct. She flipped when I blogged calling Obama O'Stymie, but the best part was she got in trouble for breaking my balls and was asked to retire. Part of working for the state is that an employee can't be fired for anything that falls under "creed", which are political beliefs. She thought because she was a dyke and left wing, she would be protected in stomping someone she disagreed with. Well, she was wrong. F the bitch.

True but these two were fired by a private business -- no such protection (at least not in their state). Of course they might well try to claim that they were canned for being in a "protected class": minority, older, etc.

Exactly. Some states might extend it to private sector. I wouldn't be surprised if california did.

I'm surprised that libertarians would rejoice that the freedom to vote as you wish is threatened. That said, the employer can let go any employee he wants to.

Eric Dondero said...

What freedom to vote? All our votes are canceled out today, by fuckwad Democrats voting two to three times, by mentally disabled people voting, Dems signing up barely coherent senior citizens and filling out the ballot forms for them, by illegal foreigners from south of the border, and Arab lands.

Voting has become a fucking joke. Real Americans have no voting rights anymore.

Just wondering if you could provide links to substantial and verifiable sources confirming all of your allegations.

Now I realize the truth there is indeed a relatively small amount of voter fraud involving both parties from time to time. But your sweeping generalities really do demand some verifiable sources.

Now little Eric, we've talked about this. Saying Obama won via voter fraud is okay during pretend time, but this is the real world and your claims are completely unsubstantiated. So if you could cut the bullshit, we'd all appreciate it. Now run and play, the grown ups are talking.

Now, be honest with me: If someone had been fired for voting for Romney (say, because Romney's fiscal policies would destroy the economy) you would be up in arms. You'd have at least 5 articles about how the employer was the worst human being in the world and probably a secret Muslim. And you know what, you'd be right. No one should be fired for voting the way they want to. But because this guy fired them for voting for Obama, you are applauding him.

Hence, you are hypocrites and enemies of freedom. I mean, you believe people should be fired for voting for Obama, right? Why not go one step further? Why not make them live in special cities, or special parts of the cities they live in? Or maybe they should be put in camps, fenced off and kept away from other people, just to keep them from tainting them with their liberalism of course. Maybe you could use their time in those camps to educate them, about why voting for Obama is bad? That sound good to you?

So we've established that you're against people voting the way they want, pro-monarchy and pro-slavery. You must be very proud. I'll remind you of that the next time you decided to call me a fascist.

No, not exactly. I don't believe people should just be "fired" for voting for Obama, I think they should be expelled from the United States, and stripped of their U.S. citizenship. Obama was born in Kenya. He is not an American. He hates America.

Those who voted for him, need to be escorted onto buses destination Matamoros, Mexicali, Juarez and Tijuana. Armed guards should be placed on the border to ensure that these traitors do not try to return to U.S. soil.

In the United States we charge the accessories to murder with murder. The driver of the getaway car for example in a bank robbery where someone gets shot and killed.

Wouldn't the same apply to Obama supporters?

Obama is an illegal president. They are accessories to his crime. They should be classified as illegals, as well.

First off Eric, I want you to understand something very clearly: Barack Obama was born in Hawaii. He did not win through voter fraud. He is not from Kenya. There is ample evidence he was born in Hawaii, there is no evidence he was born in Kenya. There is ample evidence he won legitimately, there is no evidence of voter fraud of any scale. The sooner you understand this, the better off you will be.

Secondly Eric...wow. Just wow. I was joking about the camps, but you really are a fascist. You want to kick people out of the country for not voting the way want them to eh? So basically, you hate democracy. You hate freedom. You hate the Constitution. You hate liberty. You are anti-American. You hate America and everything it stands for.

So from now on, all I'll ever call you is America-Hater. It's all you deserve to be called.
