Rapist's defense: I'm a Muslim, what do you expect

The Daily Mail is running a story about an 18-year old man who was pardoned by a judge from a charge of rape of a 13-year old girl, whose defense is that he was "educated" in a madrassa (Muslim school) and taught that girls are no more than loolipops dropped into dirt.

The judge said, yep, that's defense is good enough, you can go free.

Now we ask the following question: Who has insulted Islam more: the 18-year old man trying to save himself from being punished by blaming his lack of self-control on his religion; or, the judge who accepted the argument that Islam is such a primitive religion that we can't expect anything better from people raised as Muslims?
