Mackey getting flack again from the liberal media for "Libertarian" views

This time over Global Warming skepticism

From Yahoo News, "Whole Foods Founder Says Global Warming “Not that Big a Deal”":
John Mackey, the co-founder and CEO of Whole Foods Market, seems like a man of contradictions. His company’s motto is “Whole Foods, Whole People, Whole Planet” – yet he says there’s an upside to global warming, and he’s reportedly wary of labor unions. He’s a vegan with a self-described Libertarian bent. He’s grown his business to an $11 billion Fortune 300 company, but his salary is $1 per year. To 70,000 team members, he’s the boss. Still, as he told Off the Cuff, “I sometimes put my foot in my mouth.”

As for regulation to reduce global warming, he said, “We can probably eliminate poverty on the planet earth in the next 50 years if we will just continue to follow the tenets of free enterprise capitalism to the greatest extent possible. So I just don’t want to see that change.”
Editor's note - Sounds like he's pissing off all the right people. Mackey, Libertarian for President 2016?

Hopefully, in 2014 we have a Rand Paul- Gary Johnson GOP ticket and no serious need for a major Libertarian candidate.

I'd prefer Rubio/Palin. Or Rubio/Giuliani.

I'm sad to say the day is over for the all white male ticket on the GOP side.

Obama importing immigrants and signing them up as Democrats has assured that.

I agree about the white male ticket.

However, as long as the GOP runs candidates that seriously turn off Libertarians it's gonna lose significant votes on that side.

Urhm, it's only skepticism if it goes against real data. I would posit that AGW activists (or whatever they call themselves, currently) are reality skeptics.

There is are mountains of evidence that we are causing climate change on a massive scale, that it can and will cause damage on a massive scale.

This is, to me, the most hilarious part of the whole global climate change, that there is no debate in the scientific community, same as with creationism. Global climate change is happening, according to every real scientist in the world, and if we don't figure out a way to stop or at least slow it, we are for some serious shit.

But what makes me laugh even more is this insane inability of people like you to be willing to try alternative fuel. I mean, what is the downside of trying to find a more sustainable alternative to oil? Can anyone explain to me what the issue is?

Allow me to explain the upside, ignoring global climate change: Cleaner air, better atmosphere, Middle Eastern Dictators have less power, cheaper power for everyone. Oh and this little tidbit: Oil is finite resource! All the oil that exists now is all that's going to exist for a million years or more, and the oil that's there is not going to last forever. We are going to run out eventually and when it does, we are going to be left holding the bag. Wouldn't you rather come up with an alternative BEFORE that?

Oh and following free enterprise capitalism has been tried and it always leads to a massive gap between rich and poor and the economy going belly up (see: 2008 financial collapse). But hey, not like any of you would be willing to briefly research your posts.

Oh typo. Sorry: Following free market capitalism to the greatest extent possible always leads to financial collapse. Sorry, don't want you to burst an artery yelling about how I'm a socialist.

No, shit for brains. There are mountains of claims. These claims are the result of computer models that have no basis in reality. Since we know the climate has in the past been considerably warmer than it is now and people thrived, what makes you retarded shitbags think you have any right to be taken seriously?

Why would life not be better if the global temperature went up two degrees? (two degrees is more than even these bullshit models have predicted)

Get on with it, you stupid fucking slave.
