Pamela Geller goes off on Obama's rush to confiscate guns

"The only way to stop a man with a gun, is with a gun"

From Eric Dondero:

Ayn Rand individualist, and Atlas Shrugs blogger Pamela Geller, passionately defended Gun Rights and the 2nd Amendment at a Dec. 17 gathering of Ayn Randian and Tea Party enthusiasts. The event was held at a Manhattan bar, with a "Don't Tread on me" flag draped in the backdrop.
Obama can rush to pass gun control laws, which has nothing to do with what happened in Connecticut. Nothing. And there's an ideology that inspired that really sick monster in Connecticut... We all know that any time gun control has been instituted, gun crime went up. The UK. Look at the UK. The UK banned guns. 89%! increase in gun crime in the last 10 years.

The assault ban weapon. Again, look at the numbers. When, when it expired nothing happened. And again, these are not military guns. Understand, it's how the left twists and perverts words. They're military style. Which on the outside, it's true. They look military. But on the inside, it's the same guts as a hunting rifle. They're not rapid fire machines. It's a con job, making you think it will make you safe. The only way to stop a man with a gun, [Jimmy Duranty impression] is wid a gun!"

I'm pretty sure the UK banned guns a lot more than ten years ago.

Wow. Out of all that, that's what you pull out?

You're a fucking idiot. Bloody fucking idiot.

The ban was in 1997 and they amended it in 2010. Since it went into effect, violent and gun crime went up. As far as the british mentality goes, all I have is two words: Tony Martin.

The US has a rate of gun homicide over 40 times greater than the UK.

And it was lower before than ban as it was in germany and australia before they passed stricter legislation.

Gun restrictions were way more strict before the outright bans in those places than they've ever been in the US. When you still have companies manufacturing heavy weapons for personal use in other countries, there's going to be smuggling.

Hey "Right Guy" can you provide a reference for where you find the data that supports your assertion that "violent and gun crime went up" in the UK post firearms ban? What's that? No you can't? That would be because you're absolutely delusional. What you typed there is the most incorrect datapoint I've ever seen propagated in relation to gun control. If you're going to argue for or against something, at least don't outright lie. It makes you and everyone you support appear as if you are intentionally attempting to mislead people who may be undecided as of yet.

John Lott.

That doesn't seem to be a link to a credible document.
