Stone co-managed Ronald Reagan's campaigns for President, and Bob Dole for President in 1996. He is the former husband of Republicans for Choice Chair Anne Stone. He is now serving as a consultant to Libertarian for President Gary Johnson. On a related note, Stone managed former New York City Madam Kristin Davis's independent-libertarian candidacy for NYC Mayor in 2009.

Stone remains a close Davis confidante. Some have speculated that Davis, who exposed the Elliot Spitzer hooker scandal in 2009, has a long list of friends and former associates in the business.
