Rosa DeLauro dodging debates with her GOP opponent

Obama and the Dems in Connecticut so far, "performance sub-par" -- The Hill

Meet Wayne Winsley. He's the Republican nominee for Congress in Connecticut's 3rd CD (New Haven to Bridgeport). He is running against entrenched Democrat incumbent Rosa "free taxpayer-funded diapers for everyone" DeLauro. Before you start thinking, this is Connecticut. No chance for a Republican to win, consider this, from TheHill, this morning, (Linda McMahon race for US Senate):

there’s some concern among Democrats about Obama’s performance in Connecticut, which has been somewhat sub-par considering the strong Democratic constituency in that state, which has not voted for a Republican for president since 1988.

The same Quinnipiac poll gave Obama only a seven-point lead over Republican Mitt Romney, compared to a 12-point lead from a Republican poll around the same time in 2008.

If Democrats show less enthusiasm for the president, lower turnout could hurt Murphy’s chances at a win in November.

Wayne is the great grandson of a Georgia slave turned freeman and sharecropper. He is a US Navy Vet. He's best known as the morning anchor/host on Norwalk's 1350 NewsTalk AM.

He's a conservative with a libertarian streak. One of his biggest issues, and one he's been hammering DeLauro on is her support for a Soda Pop Tax. He also boasts on his campaign site, support for "self-reliance," and "individual sovereingty."
