Viguerie blasts Rice for being Pro-Choice AND! a NeoCon

What happened to the social conservative side of NeoConnism?

From Eric Dondero:

NeoCons are now "Pro-Choice" on abortion? Who knew?

Noted social conservative and very, very old guy Richard Viguerie, sent out a press release criticizing Condoleeza Rice for being from the socially tolerant wing of the GOP, and at the same time accusing her of being a "NeoCon."
“We want someone who conservatives recognize as one of their own, not some nominal Republican who the news media thinks of as a conservative because he or she has an “R” for Republican beside their name.

“And that describes the pro-choice Condoleeza Rice all too well.
Of course, historically NeoCon has meant social conservative, i.e. Bill Bennett, Gary Bauer, Charles Krauthammer, George Will, Bill Kristol, et.al.

Continuing:
“But that’s exactly the problem. Surrounded as he is by establishment Republicans from the Bush era, Governor Romney doesn’t seem to grasp that the Republican defeats of 2006 and 2008, and the Tea Party rebellion of 2010, were in some measure caused by the policies Condoleeza Rice advocated and carried out on behalf of George W. Bush.

“Condoleeza Rice is no movement conservative. Given her association with some of the worst neo-con inspired policies of the Bush era, putting Condoleeza Rice at the top of the VP short list is an insult to the conservatives, Tea Partiers, and independents that are looking for a break with the old establishment Republican Washington that Rice represents.
Editor's note - Rice once called herself a "essentially a libertarian" on abortion. Silly us, we always thought NeoCons were from the socially conservative wing of the Party.

This is precisely why she won't be the choice. Mitt has to appeal to the "conservative" part of the GOP, and for that he'll need a Bible thumper.

Cats out of the bag Jerry. I think she will be the choice. The news cycle has already spoken. If it's not her, it's the biggest headfake in political history.

Romney has no choice but to pick her now.

Weren't they saying the same thing about Rob Portman before?
Incidentally, I think she's a good choice for him, electorally. How many black votes can she deliver? With a very weak Obama, I'd say more than a few. Same for women. How many female votes can she pull?

"Cats out of the bag "

I think it's bait. Just watch what happens this weekend when all of these scumbag democrats start talking about how awful she is. This is the kind of discussion that draws out leftists and gets them to show what filthy animals they are.

Who the fuck cares? Electorally, the so called "black vote" is tiny. As a monolith, the number of black people over 18 and not involved in the legal system as inmates, probationers or parolees is the least influential voting bloc there is. What Romney did at the NAACP is the way you take advantage of that voting bloc...you eliminate it's racial cohesiveness altogether. You attract individuals not colors.

Romney is doing everything right.

Neocons are the vast majority. When paleos use the term traditional conservative, they fail to see, or are dodging their own reactionary character.
