Out-of-touch Leftist Media idiot of the Day!

MSNBC Anchor says NASCAR Autos go "500 mph" right?

From Eric Donndero:

From the Sports blog SB Nation comes this hilarious bit of news.
NASCAR Chairman and CEO Brian France was a guest on MSNBC on Thursday to talk about the sport's green initiatives in advance of Earth Day.
France was asked several questions about NASCAR's environmental push by anchor Thomas Roberts, who apparently thinks race cars are actually fighter jets.
"The obvious draw for NASCAR is the speed," Roberts said to France. "Cars going up to about 500 mph, right?"
Continuing:
France quickly replied, "Right," which I'm guessing was a reflex to the surprising question.
I mean, what was he supposed to say? "Actually, Thomas, our cars are 300 mph slower than that." I don't think so. In a national media interview like that, France probably just wanted to go on, hit his talking points and make a good impression.
Roberts, though, certainly didn't do his homework.
No race car has ever traveled even close to 500 mph. NASCAR stock cars go just over 200 mph, IndyCars go about 230 mph...

The fastest piston powered wheel driven car was 415 MPH in the flying mile. Someone was able to do 426 MPH, but not in the flying mile and repeatable as the car broke down. The fastest production car IIRC is the Buggati Veyron, something around 253MPH. Still pretty fast.

That's not the point Jim. The guy didn't do his homework before his show, and he doesn't get called on it. Cause, well, ya know, he's a liberal. And liberals don't make mistakes.

The liberal media doesn't get called on anything and it is my point. Doing just marginal research yielded some facts in my case. The guy didn't even do that much. I would also posit that it is symptomatic on both the general level of willful ignorance of people and the lack of curiosity. If you want a paradigm example of this type of media, just look at the AP. The writing and research are horrible and what passes for news is editorial at best.

AP is Pro-Muslim/Pro-Socialist propoganda. Completely funded by Saudi Wahabbist Islamic extremists.

Why do we insist on cooperating with these assholes by going along with stupid fucking lie that says these fuckers are in the news business? They aren't in the news business. They're in the democrat business.

Also, Eisenhower was a Communist and the Third Reich still has a secret moon base.

You are sort of right Knapp. Only you missed the location by a few tens of thousands of miles.

The Third Reich today is headquarters in Riyadh with a sub-HQ in Tehran.

Airliners go that fast. Not cars. It's a simple 1+1 equation.
Secondly, I consider NASCAR to be a guttural pursuit at best (not a sport). I avoid it like the plague to make sure I'm not accused of being one of them. I pay less than no attention to NASCAR, and I know the cars don't go 500 mph.

Ahh. The baseless pride that accompanies dumbass bigotry is so much like steaming shit on grass.
