Noted NeoCon now sees Obama as too liberal

QUOTE OF THE DAY!

New York Times columnist David Brooks, on the Laura Ingraham show (via Politico):
"I still like him and admire him personally, but he’s certainly more liberal than I thought he was,” Brooks said.

“He's more liberal than he thinks he is. He thinks he’s just slightly center-left, but when you get down to his instincts, they’re pretty left. And his problem is that he can’t really act on them, because it would be political disaster. And so that means, I think right now he’s doing very little, proposing very little."
Editor's note - Hard to judge whether or not Brooks is really a NeoCon or rather a left-of-center establishmentarian? The two strains in American politics are largely indistinguishable.

He's a vapid flake whose schtik is to claim to be a republican while attacking their principles on a regular basis. It's a business model more than a philosophy. If he was an actual republican, the New York Times wouldn't have ever hired him.

"Run Barack Run!"

What a crock. Brooks has always been a left-of-center establishmentarian. Dig his pet concept of "national greatness." (Das schmecht!) Hell, his entire career has been a crock.

All Brooks had to do to obtain an accurate expectation of Oh-Boy! was to read Barack's own "memoirs" and listen to his Chicago NPR interviews, the course outline of his work at Chicago as a "constitutional expert."

A simple gander through easy-to-acquire primary source material would have told Li'l Davy Brooks everything he is now "learning" six years late.

Brooks could have examined secondary sources for confirmation: Obama's influences, starting with Ann Dunham, BO Sr., "Uncle" Frank, his work at Alinsky's office, his work with ACORN/SEIU, his social network which includes Rashid Khalidi, Ayers and Dhorn...

Brooks is in the news and information game. Facts are his stock-in-trade. It seems obvious to those of us who have examined Barack Obama's public record that "professionals" such as Brooksie had done so, too. There was far too much out there in plain sight for Brooks not to have known the man he was gushing over.

"...More liberal than I thought he was." No. Obama is not "liberal." He is statist-totalitarian. Brooks knows it.

According to Brooks, he immediately liked Brakabama because of the way his pants fit or some such. WHat impressed him about Brack was that he was brown looking but didn't sound like Uncle Remus when he talked. To people like Brooks, this is akin to a bear riding a bicycle.

The guy is a flake.
