German news reporter uses racial slur to describe grassroots Florida Republicans

From Eric Dondero:

Deutsche-Well is one of Germany's largest and most influential media outlets. Their American political correspondent joined the candidates on the Florida GOP primary campaign trail this weekend. He wanted to get Gingrich and Romney to comment on the record about Europe.

However, during his news report heard worldwide, at 1:20 minutes in, he uses a term that most Americans would find offensive:
[Gingrich] knows exactly what his audience wants to hear... Europe is a buzzword that pushes buttons with Gingrich's conservative followers. They're mainly whites, under-educated..."
Just imagine the outcry if some reporter had called African-Americans at an Obama rally "under-educated Blacks."

Funny, but I was just talking to somebody the other day, and said that European reporters are mostly white, over assholed people.

I Don't think under educated really qualifies as a slur. Truth is 90% of voters are under educated on the issues. That's why we'll never see a libertarian government in our lifetimes.

when you put under-educated together with white, it does. If it was left by itself, probably not.

Ask yourself this question Charlie. Does that "under-educated brown" person over there sound bigoted or racist to you?

And if so, why the double standard?

I don't see it as racist, but more as Euro-elitist cognitive dissonance. These are the same morons who required us to save them from themselves twice last century;

It was we "under-educated" trogs who made all-wood Mosquitos and all-metal Mustangs that kicked-ass everywhere they went, sixty years ago. The iPhone was NOT invented in Berlin.

You know, I think they're still hurtin'.

Certainly denigrating if nothing else. Racist may be too strong. But I still say if he had said "un-educated blacks" or "un-educated browns" this it'd be all over the MSM.

Yes! And how.

it is rather silly that it matters, but it wouldn't offend me in the least to here the term under educated blacks. In fact Democrats implicity use the term all the time when supporting Big Education :-) Most people don't give a shit about this PC crap, but race baiters on both sides know it equals free and easy media coverage.

I take umbrage with the implication that education is somehow indicative of intelligence. It is that notion that needs to be demolished. Some of the dumbest fuckers in this society have masters degrees.

Chuck makes a great point. Some of the dumbest people I know are lawyers.

I know PhD's that look into the LED's on computer mice. Not the best for the eyes, even after being told not to do it. Education types are the worst...

The higher the level of education, the more specialized it is. It means someone has a detailed knowledge in a narrow area. One needn't be a genius to get there. The other thing is, there is "common sense", intelligence and emotional intelligence. All of these factor in.

I resemble that statement. :)
