LP Chair Mark Hinkle says Johnson switching now very likelyVideo News report from Channel 4 KOB Albuquerque:
Johnson told Eyewitness News 4 in a phone interview from New Hampshire that he is almost certainly going to drop out of the race for the Republican presidential nomination and run for the Libertarian Party's nomination instead. From Politico:
He continues his grassroots campaign for smaller government, less spending, debt reduction, legal marijuana and gay marriage.
"From what I see and hear on the ground, I think a lot more people embrace this message than not, and the Republicans certainly aren't even letting me be heard," Johnson said.
Johnson also said leaders of the Libertarian Party have made overtures and he thinks he has a fair chance of winning the nomination.
“My understanding is that some time before the New Hampshire primary Gary Johnson will say goodbye to the GOP and re-register with the Libertarian Party,” Hinkle said.

I suppose somebody gets the LP nod every year. Might as well be Johnson. He seems a nice enough guy.
It's a shame the Libertarian Party can't get it's tie-dyed, dope worshiping head out of it's collective ass and actually do some good for this country. They really screwed the pooch by making themselves the party of vice. It's a stupid thing to lead with, but that's what they've done.
Priorities!
I don't see the LP as the party of vice but the party of freedom.
It is easy to abuse alcohol and drugs. Is the Republican Party (or the Democratic Party) the party of alcohol use because they support legal alcohol?
