Party Switcher from Libertarian to Republican for Michigan Senate race

Anti-Tax activist ready to take on Stabenow

From Eric Dondero:

Scotty Boman is an icon of the Michigan Libertarian Party. He's been active nearly two decades pushing third party activism in MI politics. Now he's turning Republican.

From the Houston Chronicle "Boman joins Republican Michigan US Senate race":
A longtime Libertarian activist in Michigan has decided to run for the U.S. Senate as a Republican.

Scotty Boman made the formal announcement Friday in a press release. He joins a Republican race where most of the attention has gone to charter school leader Clark Durant and former U.S. Rep. Pete Hoekstra.

The winner of the August 2012 Republican primary would run against incumbent Democratic U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow in November.

Boman, of Detroit, last ran for U.S. Senate as a Libertarian in 2008. Boman ran for Michigan Secretary of State last year as a Libertarian.
Boman was Libertarian Party Chair in MI from 2006 to 2008. He was also active in the Michigan Civil Rights Initiative (MCRI) chaired by longtime MI libertarian Republican former state rep. Leon Drolet, overturning racial preferences for college admissions.

Bowman looks like Bill Lumberger, but I'd vote for him in a heartbeat if Debbie Stabmenow was my congress critter.

does anyone else think that Stabenow looks like Jabba the Hutt?

Ken Howe is my name and I have known of Scotty for years and have great respect for him. I think he brings a new type of logic to the senate race as a Republican. He did a great job as Chairman of the Michigan state Libertarian Party and I believe he would do an even better job as a Senator. In any event anyone would be better than Stabenow.
