Next up Mandatory Seat Belts for EMTs and Patients in the backs of Ambulances

NANNY-STATE WATCH!!

From Eric Dondero:

Here it comes... Could Ambulance drivers, EMTs, and even patients now be required to be strapped in? A death of an 86-year old man in Teaneck, NJ in the back of an ambulance, has sparked a statewide drive for boosting the regulations. The widow is suing the ambulance company saying he was not sufficiently strapped in to his wheelchair when he was being transported to the hospital.

From NorthJersey.com:
"It's an important safety precaution that is actually quite rational," said one of the bill's sponsors, Sen. Loretta Weinberg, the Teaneck Democrat.
Editor's comment - Why stop there? Of course, helmets would also save lives. And padded sides inside vehicles. How about steel-armored side plates to protect from crashes. After all, how can you put a cost on saving lives, right?
