"Herman-nator"From Cliff Thies:
A Foxnews Poll confirms a variety of other indications that Herman Cain is now among the top tier candidates for the Republican nomination. In this poll, Mitt Romney comes in first among Republicans, with 23 percent; Rick Perry second, with 19; and, Cain third. with 17.
From Fox:
Cain’s support among Republican primary voters is surging as he and the other standout from last week’s FOX News/Google debate, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, benefited from a weak showing by former frontrunner Rick Perry.Just as dramatic as Cain's rising is Perry's decline. Like a Michael Jackson album, Perry opened at the top of the chart, sucking the wind from the sails of Michelle Bachman, as the social conservative parry to the thrust of moderate Romney. But, what goes around comes around, and the Gospel-singing, pizza-delivering, cancer-defying, Navy ballistics specialist and Tea Party favorite from Georgia has now returned the favor.
Cain rose from 6 percent in the August FOX poll to 17 percent in the September sample.
Perry plummeted from 29 percent to 19 percent and from a 6-point lead to a 4-point deficit with former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.
