Flake raises most cash in Arizona Senate race

It is increasingly looking like Congressman Jeff Flake may me disuading any serious challenges within the Republican Party, and even on the Democrat side, for the seat of retiring Senator Jon Kyl.

The Hill reports "Rep. Flake to report $2 million for Senate race":

Rep. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) is expected to announce that he has raised more than $800,000 in the last three months and has more than $2 million in cash on hand for his Senate campaign, according to the Arizona Republic.

Flake, a libertarian-leaning Republican crusader against earmarks, faces a possibly contested Republican primary, but his large cash advantage could dissuade any serious challengers.

On the Democrat side, according to The Hill, only a relatively obscure former State Dem Party Chair has announced to run.
