From Eric Dondero: With libertarian Republican Rep. Jeff Flake running for the US Senate, his Phoenix-area district has come open. The district could change dramatically depending on redistricting from an independent commission. Note - AZ picks up two new congressional seats.
Radical leftist State Senator Kyrsten Sinema of Phoenix is already putting the word out that she's very likely to run for one of the Congressional seats. And the vacated Flake seat is a very likely possibility.
From Roll Call:
Arizona state Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D) is strongly considering a bid for Congress next year and could help Democrats make inroads in a state where they lost two seats last cycle.Sinema is considered to be one of the most "far leftist" members of the legislature, particularly vehement in her advocacy of illegal immigration.
However, Sinema won’t know which House district she would compete in until an independent redistricting commission produces a map this year.
Sinema, 34, is openly bisexual. She graduated from Brigham Young University at the age of 18, and after working for a nongovernmental organization in Kenya, she moved to Phoenix to work as a public school social worker.
