From Eric Dondero:Former Iowa Republican Congressman, and TV sitcom star Fred Grandy has been fired (or by some accounts asked to resign), as the morning show co-host on AM radio station WMAL. The station is one of the top news radio outlets in the Washington/Baltimore market.
The radio station is not giving specifics, but Grandy pulled no punches. He asserts that he and his wife were asked to leave because of their strident views against radical Islam.

Grandy pointed the finger at the Council for American Islamic Relations. Continuing:“My wife and I have used our program over the last several months to warn about the spread of radical Islam at home and abroad. Last week, Catherine (known on the show as Mrs. Fred) delivered a very tough indictment against stealth jihad, and for her efforts she was told she was off the show. I then told management without Mrs. Fred at the microphone, I could not remain either and have resigned effective this morning.”
“We cannot affirmatively conclude CAIR or any of the prominent Islamic organizations had anything to do with this. We do know, however, in 2005 representatives of CAIR in DC were successful in getting midmorning host Michael Graham fired for anti-Islamic statements he had made on the radio and TV.”Further reports suggest Sean Hannity is CAIR's next target.

And that's just the way CAIR does it, too. They inflate the numbers of their members (Membership has been declining steadily for the last few years.) and threaten massive boycotts against business that advertise with the station.
Stations need to realize that CAIR has yet to successfully conduct a boycott against anyone, and businesses that have stood up to their bullying have benefitted from doing so.
Bigger question, where in the 'F' are the Libertarians on this? Why no friggin' press release from the Libertarian Party HQ in D.C.? Why the silence on so-called "Liberty supporters" when it comes to issues of Political Correctness?
I do not observe the term 'radical Islam', but i do believe he should be able to criticize terrorism and any politics and religion. We seen this take root in the 90's, i do not see why concern for political correctness is taking place now. Especially after three 'hate crime/speech' bills.
Because real libertarians are not bigots. Restricting religious freedom does nothing good for the cause of liberty.

I think we're missing something here. Grandy's show was at the bottom of the ratings, and he was paid $300,000 a year. Had he been popular like Limbaugh, Hannity, Levine or even Plante (who is waaaaaaay more strident about radical islamists than Fred or Mrs. Fred ever were), he'd probably still be around.
The Libertarians in DC know this is about market forces and not speech. Grandy cost a lot and didn't produce much. Why are you guys being such communists about this?

So, Eddie, if his ratings were in the toilet why did they fire him and his wife now? Why not before? Just a coincidence that right after his wife exposed Islamo-Fascism they were fired?
Why put up with low ratings any longer? The radio station never told him to stop talking about radical islam, which Grandy has admitted, and CAIR never contacted WMAL about Grandy, which Grandy himself has admitted to not having any evidence of.
Face it guys, this wasn't about some conspiracy, this was about a guy not doing his job well and being let go. Would you keep an employee that was way more expensive than they were worth, who also refused to start producing results?

Instead of being honest about why he left (frustration over low ratings, capitulating to his wife), Grandy pulls out the ol’ muslim boogie man, knowing he can work you all up into a frenzy. Do you really think muslim clerics are taking over the same radio stations that play Rush for three hours a day?
