Gov.-elect Kasich to give Ohioans a nice big fat New Year's gift - a Cut in their Income Taxes

"I was Tea Party before there was a Tea Party"

From BizJournals.com:
Kasich’s Tea Party-like promise of a less-intrusive, more-efficient state government, plus a pledge to cut taxes, resonated with Ohioans who not only voted him into the governor’s office but also provided large Republican majorities in the Ohio House and Senate that will be needed to advance his agenda. That will include balancing the next two-year budget, which faces an estimated $6 billion to $8 billion revenue shortfall, with no new tax revenue. In fact, Kasich said he will reduce potential revenue by restoring a 4.2 percent state income tax cut that was postponed last year in a budget-balancing move by Strickland and lawmakers.
Asked in the interview to comment on the Tea Party:
“I was the Tea Party before there was a Tea Party,” said the conservative former congressman from Westerville. “They don’t like debt, big government and bureaucracy.”

Thanks Eric!

Cut in taxes, huh? What about spending? How about elimination of redundant entitlements, agencies, "Departments" and Union closed-shop rules? Time for a heavy operation of fiscal lipo-suction.

Kasich has an extraordinary opportunity to show that he is not the RINO his Ohio Republican machine had thought they were getting. Same goes for the many new Republican State Reps and Senators.

I wish Kasich and the new wave luck... they all of them will have the Ohio Teapers on his back full-time.

The money has to come from somewhere, I guess they'll borrow it. Remember, spending is the only way to bribe the electorate. We've come to expect things from the government. That's why we vote for politicians right, so we get something. Only a fool is bribed with his or her own money.

Wait , wait, wait , seven million Texas voters turn the other way and say , "It's ok because Rick did it! Don't worry about that $24 billion budget shortfall in 2011. Rick will sell Texas to a foreign country. We are going to be ok!"

Gee. And to think all they would've had to do was ask some asshole posting anonymously on a message board what to do and everything could have been copacetic.

What a tragedy.
