Democrat congresswoman from neighboring district attacks Allen West for connections to Biker Magazine

Florida Politics getting goofy in the final days

From Eric Dondero:

Allen West has been polling 3 to 6 points ahead of incumbent Democrat Rep. Ron Klein. The latest attempt to knock West down comes from Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, whose District is next door to Klein's. Wasserman-Schultz held a sit-in protest at West's Deefield Beach campaign headquarters over his association with a South Florida Biker Magazine "Wheels on the Road." West writes a monthly column titled "Washingtoons."

From the Ft. Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel, "Wasserman Schultz protests West’s link to bike mag" Oct. 22:
The magazine also lampoons President Obama and backs Wasserman Schultz’ Republican opponent, Karen Harrington.

“Do America a favor and this November vote for Allen West for Congress (if you are in the 22nd District),” a column by “Nasty” says in the October issue. “He wants to restore honor, integrity and character to Washington, something that it desperately needs, and Allen West will bring it on.”

The publication is full of photographs and news about motorcycling.

Wasserman Schultz objected not so much to West’s column but to his connection to the magazine, which she says treats women as property and suggests they should serve men and wear slave chokers.
This is how the Sun-Sentinel described the protest the next day:

In a sign of just how worried Democrats are about Congressman Ron Klein's political fortunes, U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz staged a protest Friday outside the office of Klein's Republican challenger.

The Friday event was designed to generate negative publicity for West. And it worked, drawing a pack of newspaper and television reporters.

But bringing out a congresswoman from an adjacent district, who also is a vice chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee and a leader in the party's efforts to retain control of the House, underscored the precarious state of Klein's bid for a third term.
Editor's comment - Is Wasserman-Schultz just upset cause the magazine didn't ask her to pose?

Heterosexual voters will have no problem. This is a plus for West.

Eric, she may have just been celebrating after receiving the coverted, (for Dems) Reason TV Porker of the month award.

LMAO!

Reminds me of the first time I saw a "Smart Car" - on the autoroute leading to the Lausanne airport. Our big Merc blew past the thing - it was stuck around 100 klicks or so - and we literally buffeted the little shoebox.

In my youth I probably could have put a Smart car on its side by myself.

As far as a Z71 goes, my condolences, if it's 2007 and newer...

It's a 2000. It was my father's. I don't even like pick up trucks to tell the truth. He loved that damn thing though. My rationale is purely emotional. It's a hot rod. That Vortec motor is a BMF. I think I'm gonna get an aftermarket chip for it and tone it down some for the sake of mileage. It's getting almost 20 now in hot rod mode. I bet I could get it up to 22 with an economy chip and a rag filter.

Why is Debbie Washes my Shirts such a prominent democrat advocate? I don't get it. Is there a reason I should know who she is?..or care what she thinks? Is she on some congressional committee on irrelevance?
