Tony Blair: To defeat Radical Islam West's will has to be stronger

From Eric Dondero:

Tony Blair, on a nation-wide tour promoting his newly-released Memiors, told the BBC that Radical Islam is now the greatest threat facing the Western World.

Sounding almost Churchillian, the former Prime Minister stated that Westerners needed to be vigilant and not back down in the face of the Islamic onslaught.

From the BBC:
"This extremism is so deep that in the end they have to know that they're facing a stronger will than theirs."
He also called Radical Islam:
"regressive, wicked and backward-looking".
On the threat from Iran, he went on to say:
"There is the most enormous threat from the combination of this radical extreme movement and the fact that, if they could, they would use nuclear, chemical or biological weapons."

Or...how about not invading countries under false pretenses [Iraq] or hitting the right enemy [alkayda] in Afghanistan?

Also, from Will Rogers: don't start a new war until the debt is paid off on the last one. That way the USG won't be doing EXACTLY what Osama bin Ladin states is key to his plan: bankrupting the USG.

I think that Blair has only semi-awakened to the Islamist threat, hence his use of the term ‘radical Islam’ instead of the factually correct ‘applied Islam’ or ‘doctrinaire Islam’. His policies helped to fuel the Islamisation of the UK and gag critics of this process. He has failed to come to grips with the ideological essence of Islam, and thus is unable to recommend the domestic policies which are required to successfully tackle Islamist terror. To fight wars overseas whilst allowing Islam to spread unchecked at home is a recipe for disaster: http://durotrigan.blogspot.com/2010/09/has-tony-blair-woken-up-to-reality-of.html

Take out the pro-Soviet Socialist and Secular Iraq Baath Party and REMOVE a proven enemy of Iran leaving a giant power vacuum.

A power vacuum that now requires countless billions in U.S. spending to fill.

Look like General Eisenhower was right about the Military-Industrial Complex.

Is Blair still the president of the Socialist International?

Tom has a damned good question, and Duro a solid point: Blair, while partially right on the issue, is deflecting attention from the threat to liberty posed by his massive-government doctrines.

Statism of the corporatist Blair variety is, IMHO, a far more substantive threat to the West.
