Marco surges to big lead over rival Crist

Democrat Meeks way down

From Eric Dondero:

Tea Party favorite and libertarian-conservative Marco Rubio has taken a commanding lead in the wild Florida Senate race. Sunshine State News Poll is now reporting Rubio ahead of Crist 43 to 29%.
From Sunshine State News:
Republican Marco Rubio, garnering surprising strength among independent voters, holds a double-digit lead over his two chief rivals in Florida's U.S. Senate race, a new Sunshine State News Poll reports.

The survey of likely voters shows Rubio with 43 percent, independent Charlie Crist with 29 percent, Democrat Kendrick Meek with 23 percent and the remaining 5 percent undecided.

The Voter Survey Service poll surveyed 1,016 voters Sept. 1-5 and Sept. 7, and had a margin of error of 3 percent.

The three-way Senate contest is being closely watched nationally as it pits Crist, a well-known governor who bolted the Republican Party, against Rubio, a former Florida House speaker and tea party favorite whose early surge toward the GOP nomination forced Crist to run with No Party Affiliation.

Marco Rubio is no libertarian, hyphenated or not.

He is just a typical, run of the mill Republican. Sure he's more conservative than Charlie Crist, but otherwise there is nothing special about him.

But you're no libertarian, so how would you know who is and who is not a libertarian.

Fuckin' hate it when non-libertarians try to tell us real libertarians who is and who is not part of our libertarian club.

Knock it off!

As the editor of a site with a pretty snazzy domain name (and perhaps the potential to get a lot of traffic if we get a libertarian awakening) you need to stop sounding like such a juvenile.

"I'm a libertarian and you're not! Myahhhh! (Eric sticks tongue out and pulls down eye lid)

Dude seriously LOL.

And the very idea that you label nearly EVERYONE you promote on this site as a hyphenated libertarian is intellectually laughable.

Political designations are reached by consensus. There is consensus that Obama is a liberal. Consensus that Crist is a centrist.

Where outside of your little world is Rubio considered a libertarian by consensus???

Yeah. that's what I thought...

Alright I'm a Libertarian and I can tell you Marco Rubio isn't a Libertarian, but look he's a lot better than most Republicans.

And it all comes in moderation. We get a more conservative in and eventually we'll get a libertarian in. Just take it one step at a time and we'll get there.

I guess if you want to limit the definition of libertarian to someone who is 99% pure, than yeah, Marco is not a libertarian.

But tell me, why is it that Liberals and Conservative get to have such a wide swath of the political spectrum, but for Libertarians, it's limited to just a tiny segment?

Libertarian should encompass just as much territory on the political spectrum as Liberal and Conservative and Authoritarian and Moderate.

STOP THE DISCRIMINATION!

It's not a matter of 99% pure Eric, it's the principal of Libertarianisim that Marco does not embody to a significant measure.

While I can understand for reasons of political reality why a mainstream republican cannot call for full drug legalization. Unless they are willing to at least broach the subject of putting 100s of 1000s of otherwise peaceful citizens in jail for non violent drug offenses they are unfit to carry the libertarian mantle.

Even Jim Webb of Virginia as unacceptable as he is has brought this to lite in his quest against the prison complex in this country.

Rubio needs to expand his concepts of guaranteed liberties beyond the fiscal realm. that said I support him, just don't call that man a libertarian.

YES I AM a libertarian!!! Doofus.

I do not support big government at ALL. I support liberty and I support our Constitution, and I want the government to strictly follow it to the letter. I want the Democrat party to face humiliation this November, and I want Obamacare to be repealed, I also want Social Security and Medicare to be privatized, I want pot and industrial hemp to be legal, I want congresspeople with an A+ rating by the libertarian GOA, because I care about the 2nd amendment. And ideally I'd like to repeal the 16th amendment, but first the government needs to be small enough to drown in a bathtub.

Marco Rubio admires John McCain, who absolutely sucks. I think Rubio will be co-opted.
