From Eric Dondero:Devonia Smith columnist for the Dallas Political Buzz Examiner takes the liberal media to task on their wrong-headed geography of the proposed Ground Zero Mosque.
She reports that Fox News reporter Bill Hemmer recently paced out the distance, and found that the proposed site is a "mere sixty steps from the mosque planned location to the corner where an unobstructed view of Ground Zero may be seen..."
It has recently been confirmed that the site will contain a two-story Mosque; this after denials by the media, describing the facility as merely a "Muslim Cultural Center."
Now we learn that the floors reserved for the Mosque will be the top floors. Continuing:
As planned, the allocated area for Islam prayers will look down directly at Ground Zero - a clear view. How near would a mosque have to be to consider it a Ground Zero Mosque? If it can't be measured in clear views from the prayer area or sixty paces to a corner view, then what?
4 Bloviations:
"mere sixty steps from the mosque planned location to the corner where an unobstructed view of Ground Zero may be seen..."
You do realize that this proves it isn't viewable from Ground Zero, right?
"How near would a mosque have to be to consider it a Ground Zero Mosque?"
Well, first it would have to actually be a mosque.
"Now we learn that the floors reserved for the Mosque will be the top floors. Continuing:As planned, the allocated area for Islam prayers will look down directly at Ground Zero - a clear view."
You'll also be able to see it through Google Earth. Does that mean that everyone's computer is actually a part of the 9/11 site?
The top floors of Cordoba House will be the 12th and 13th floors. If you look out their windows toward "Ground Zero," the only thing you're going to see is the 21-story "100 Church Street" office building across the street.
The building trades people are starting a social movement against working on the mosque.
Islam is submission.
Evidently some Americans have trouble with that concept.
M. Simon,
"The building trades people are starting a social movement against working on the mosque."
With the economy as bad as it is right now, the Park51 folks won't have any trouble finding people to build it. Heck, if necessary, they can bus or fly in folks from other places if the locals don't want the contracts. If Muslims can build entire cities in the desert, do you really think they'll have any problem creating one building in a modern urban environment?
"Islam is submission."
It's the voluntary submission to God and it's based on Biblical principles.
"Evidently some Americans have trouble with that concept."
Clearly, you are among that group.
