In the senate primary in Utah, Mitt Romney campaigned strongly for Robert Bennett. Bennett lost soundly in spite of Romney's effort, a mormon republican in a mormon republican state. Romney's insider status was repudiated for a fresh Tea Party start.
With the primary election in Kentucky, Cheney campaigned for Grayson, as did other mainline republicans, like Gingrich, to no avail. Remember Gingrich was the same moron that supported Dee Dee Scozzafava against Doug Hoffman. How did that happen Mr. Potato Head? I will assert here that the populace, the Tea Party people, have repudiated Cheney as well. Darth Vader loses, and now shares a spot on the bench with the Sears® Mannequin.
Look for this trend to continue. Machine GOP will have to understand, just like incumbent democrats, that being the GOP default, being anointed by the party oligarchs, by being an incumbent does not guarantee a seat back at the table. And I want the rest of you cowboys to know something, there's a new sheriff in town. And his name is Tea Party. So y’all be cool. Right on.

What are some of the major weaknesses that Rand's Dem opponent has that can be useful in winning the general election, aside from his party?
He didn't campaign for him, he endorsed him. He also has endorsed Marco Rubio, a true conservative(more so than Paul) in Florida.
Cheney has a solid conservative past, its just that he has had to actually govern and endure time and different political moods.

This is why Gary Johnson can get Tea Partiers. Romney is a politician while Johnson is a leader plain and simple.

Those weren't cheers for Cheney at CPAC. Those were perverts howling for his lesbian daughter who introduced him.
Charles, Gary is just not registering. For whatever reason his candidacy is not catching on. You know we support him here at LR. But if you look at the poll numbers, it just ain't happening for him.
We've got to find some way to get his campaign to catch some fire?
Because of Ron Paul's national profile Rand was able to raise money and bypass the Right-Wing Socialist Party's centralized D.C. money machine. The Socialist machine will fund winners in other areas.
Here in California Commie - Liberal - Scumbag - Whore Tom Campbell is far ahead in the Right-Wing Socialist primary for U.S. Senate. Campbell was Schwarzenegger's budget director, favored increasing taxes last year and refuses to sign any pledge against new taxes.
So much for your "small government" Republican Party.
I don't dislike Cheney as some would, but when machine politicians support candidates that are insiders, anointed, or it's their turn, they deserve all the brickbats he or she gets. It happened with Scozzafava, and with Bennett and Paul it's the same. Mr. Potato Head and Co. don't get it. Cheney earned it, as did Romney and Newt. These are the same idiots that endorsed McLame. We can do better, and the machine seems to pick wrong. We've finally gotten people riled up enough to go against our party. It's not just Dems that will be repudiated.
Endorsing Rubio was coincidental in that Crist bruned bridges. Had Crist not burned bridges he would have gotten the endorsements too.
Eric did they happen for Obama in 2008? Honestly it's way to early and lets face it we have to support him and he can win. I mean he's catching on with a lot of people. Just the other day on my site a person sent me a link saying you should really take a look at this guy for 2012 and I said I already have given my support for him.
Well Eric I have 1 idea that I'm trying to do on my site and I'm also trying to get every facebook group to do and you should for this site as well.
Johnson needs to get his name out. Now on average every person has over 100 friends on facebook. We send a video of Gary Johnson I'm thinking the Our America ad where it shows him working out or the Reason TV interview.
Get 1,000 people to post that video on there walls and keep it going. Bada bing bada boom Gary Johnson is known to over 100,000 people.
Keep doing it with different people and get the message out there like that.
Infact find a pretty little Johnson video link and tell people to spread it around. I bet you that we can make a difference with that.
Rand Paul just schooled Rachel Maddow on her show. He completely beat her at her own game and out-intellectualized her. Gauging by her snarky comment to Sestak that followed, she was not happy about losing that debate.
Or Gary johnson could get the blessing of the doyenne of the Tea Party.
Which probably won't happen.
