Scott Brown unofficial Election Day Victory Song
Libertarian Republicans raise our glasses to the next US Senator from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
There was Bob McDonnell. There was Chris Cristie. But this one tops them all.
The Greatest Republican Victory since Bush beat Kerry in 2004.
Enjoy!

Blog posts will be light today until the returns start to come in. Please consider this post an open thread to discuss everything and anything Scott Brown.
UPDATE!
Our unofficial Ombudsmen (crumudgeon) Left Libertarian Thomas Knapp has a contrarian view on the election up at his blog Knappster, "Election Day in Taxachussetts." Knapp pegs the final at 49% Scott Brown, 46% Martha Coakley, 5% Joe Kennedy. (My own prediction: Brown 51%, Coakley 48%, Kennedy 1%).
He sees a Brown win as a negative for the Republican Party and the Tea Party movement, as it would "galvanize" the Far Left base on Health Care.

Another post up, too, this one formally endorsing Kennedy. Here's the part I wrote just for you, Eric, but then cut off the end of it to keep it more generally oriented:

If there's a hell for political activists, its deepest, darkest, hottest pit is reserved for the creatures who call themselves "libertarians," who choose to involve themselves in electoral politics, who know beyond any shadow of a doubt that Kennedy is not only -- hands down and by far -- the best candidate in this race but the only one worthy of support, yet who trot out the tired old "lesser evil, MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE EVAH!" routine on behalf of yet another duopoly establishment hack. All the cold showers and scrubs with wire brushes in the world won't get the stink of evil off their skin. Substitute "feeling like a big-time political insider" for "wealth" and Massachusetts hero Samuel Adams said all that needs to be said to these toads:
"If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen."

I’m voting for Kennedy, but I still think a Brown win would bode well for MA Libertarians.
1) He wins with a “shrink the size of government” message. I don’t think he has it in him to do this (just look at his record!) but it is encouraging to see how popular the message is.
2) Just a few short weeks ago no one gave him a chance. A Republican talk show host in Boston said that Brown didn’t have a “snowball’s chance” of winning. If Brown can pull this off, in the “one party state” of MA, that’s great news for Libertarians and independents.
It is the same old story every election: "Vote for one of the two major parties. The fate of America hangs in the balance."
And who is tell us this? Why the two very parties who want to hold that power.
I remember the shock and horror of the Republicrats when Jesse Ventura won the governorship. To think that non-Republicrats might hold office is beyond their limited mental abilities.
Eric... "Left Libertarian"?
'Tis an odd coupling in the emerging paradigm of Liberty vs. Tyranny, yes? What is meant by the term? Thoughts?
. . .
The point Tom misses is that generally, libertarians do not prefer Brown, but we do need the one commodity only he can realistically provide: Time. His win - if it happens - buys us much needed, very precious time.
Vital time to regroup and force the progressive statists to show their hand. Time to organize support for a libertarian influence if not re-taking of the Republican Party. Time to gather demonstrations, time to let our children read Mark Levin's magnum opus, read Alexis de Tocqueville...
I'm no fan of Brown. Yet the enemy of mine enemy may serve a purpose. If he can momentarily trip-up the Progressive Democrats, then I'm grateful for that.
Ran, in Libertarian Republican Newspeak a “left libertarian" is generally any libertarian who:
A) Supported Ron Paul, or
B) Opposed the Iraq War, or
C) Is not a Republican
Very well said. Brown is worthless, but he can be used to buy time to regroup.
Thanks Couves!
Yeah - about that 'snowball's chance' - guess who's been shopping for mitts? Frosty day indeed. Heh.
I hope Brown wins. Coakley can go screw herself. BTW I donated to Brown's campaign last week.

"I remember the shock and horror of the Republicrats when Jesse Ventura won the governorship. To think that non-Republicrats might hold office is beyond their limited mental abilities."
And some "victory" that was, talk about limited mental abilities..........
Yeah, trash Jesse Ventura yee of small brain.
Jesse had:
***Scandal free administration
***Blanaced budgets
***Largest tax cut in the history of the state
Nope, can't have people like Jesse in charge.
The same "I'm an in-duh-pen-dent" that sounds like a full-fledged member of the Dennis Kookcinich-wing of the Democrat party. Maybe they should run in 2012.............
