Libertarian Republican the "most articulate" spokesman for the GOP today

New Ad by the Governor

"Governor Sanford is the most articulate Republican out there right now, and the other Republicans ought to pay attention, or if they don't, they're numbers will continue to languish." -- Frank Luntz, Fox News Analyst

Eric, you heard Luntz "most articulate Republican." I thought you said that Sanford has no "pizzaz" and that "Palin would be much better." Listen, this is sexist, but let's face it, the American people have yet to feel confidant enough in a woman holding the nuclear football to vote for one. Look at Hilary. Palin is no iron lady, and she would be a disaster as the nominee. People respond to Mark Sanford because, although he's a little dry, both Dems and Reps (as indicated by the focus group) see his seriousness about the issues in these trying times. Palin is a cheap gimmick.

Palin is not a "cheap gimmick". She's a person we sense is "real". I cannot say that I believe that about Sanford just hearing him talk. Palin "resonates" Palin power. There's something way beyond about Palin. I'd vote for her nomination.

I think she can handle a football, too. She was captain of her basketball team - and she can handle a football, too. (You may be right that a segment of America does have an issue with a woman in leadership. But there will always be that segment.)

Dan, I still think Mark doesn't have the "pizzaz." Articulate is way different from pizzaz.

If there was only some way we could give Mark pizzaz, or Sarah gravitas, we'd have it made.

I luv them both!

And God help us if they run against each other. If that happens somehow, I will refuse to take a stand, and in the voting booth, I'll literally flip a coin.

Eric,

I think Sarah's "handlers" would do well to listen to your take. She needs to work on gravitas. She has all the warmth and shine of Reagan down. But Reagan had gravitas, also.

Do we want someone that acts the part or who is a real person? I find it unbelievable that some people think being president is nothing more than an acting role for which they have to study. Either you have it or you don't. At this point, I am tiring of populist cardboard cutouts and wannabes.

There are a lot of things I liked about Reagan, but Ronnie never had to deal with what have to deal with today and some people tend to forget his mistakes as well. He was human. Right now we need someone that is direct, no non-sense, no BS leader that isn't running for office for four years, someone that will do the job and let the cards fall where they may. Honestly, I'd rather have a George Patton than a Reagan or an Obama right now.

he can't win unless suddenly America wants a boring old white guy again.

that said, atleast he isn't a lunatic on foreign policy like the Rothbardian fools. He is more of a Thomas Sowell type

Sanford's my guy.

Eric, I'm surprised Libertarian Republican hasn't posted this video of Schiff telling the CN LP to forget about the LP, and take over the GOP instead:

This is good. I just read a post advocating this sort of thing. Incidentally, that's where I found the most useful definition of libertarian: LIBERTARIAN: One who does not wish to force an agenda on others; neither by fraud, gunpoint, legislation, judicial decision, or majority rule.

This definition comes from the blog:

Everyone, you have GOT to watch this video. I did what for me was exhaustive research over 3 months. But, this is an expert representing 700 architectures/structural engineers.

Get ready to have your mind, well, blown. Reality bites.

RG,

Patton?? I'm not sure what you mean. I think everything is about to change. I think what we think of for leadership will not be the "form" in 2 years. I seek to know truth. And avoid the consequences. lol The leadership requirements are going to change radically in the next 1-2 years.

Our talk about is fun, entertaining, but will not be applicable very soon, imo. We're about to experience incredible demographic and sociopolitical change.

A "dark horse" is going to rise out of "nowhere" - the times and the people will be so radically shaken up. Always mark my words. I'm a future teller. I can see things coming on the horizon. I tend to see things before others do. Maybe I'm a "trends researcher" like Gerald Celente because I study underlying dynamics and I try to see what's under the current.

I'm right about things that don't seem "right" to you yet. I'm seeing a little in advance because I'm examining trends and underlying dynamics.

It's going to be a dark horse. I love Palin. I don't think she's got Reagan down as an actor - I think she has that light as part of her character that we like so - but she's unique. But she probably will not be the person in just a year or two that begins to rise to prominence. Why do I say that?? Because changing times are coming and with radical change - an unknown is going to rise - and be heralded as an unknown in desperate times.

Grace.

Patton as a leadership style. Seems like you want new actors for the same old parts. Time for a different play.
