Alaskans to Rally for Reagan Values: Sarah Palin Guest Speaker

From Jason Dowell, Anchorage:

On Wednesday, June 3 Alaska conservatives and libertarians will hold a rally celebrating Ronald Reagan. It will be held at the downtown Anchorage Center for the Performing Arts. It starts at 7:30 pm.

The rally will feature a speech by radio talk show host Michael Reagan.

The keynoter will be Governor Sarah Palin.

The event is sponsored by Action for America, a pro-strong on defense, pro-free enterprise group. Libertarian Republicans and Libertarian Party members are expected to attend.

He currently lives and is employed in Anchorage, and active with both the Libertarian Party and the Republican Liberty Caucus. This is the kind of activity that pays off. Yesterday she met with Tax Protesters who also organized the TEA Party in AK. On June 1st Def Sec Robert Gates will be in Alaska to tour the missile launch facility, and listen to arguments in favor of restoring the cuts
0bama made in missile defense. On June 3rd this event, June 6th she'll be in Auburn NY to help raise funds for the Seward House, and on June 7th she's getting an award at the Independent Group Home Living Gala on Long Island.

I hope we can get videoes of all these events.

celebrate the values of a man who supported right-wing dictatorships in Latin America. Guess why Chávez, Morales, Correa and Castro are so popular now?

hector:
Castro predates Reagan. Think Eisenhower and Kennedy.

Thanks for posting, what a great event it will be.

The son of Potus 40 with the future Potus 45!!!

Hector, no cree que tienes mas cosas importantes para escribir, especialmente la corrupcion nefasta y la violencia perpetua que existe en su pais???

BTW, if they are so popular why don't you move from Mexico and live in Venezuela, Bolivia, Ecuador or Cuba, big guy???

Right Guy,
I know. However, castro remains quite popular in Latin America.
Carlos,
I don't know if i should answer to you in English or Spanish. I'll do it in English (since this is an American blog with English-speaking readers and because your Spanish is not that good), however if you want me to reply in Spanish, just tell me and I'll do it.
1) I write about Mexico's problems somewhere else (mostly, school papers and sometimes in my blog).
2) I was born in the USA, so I'm also a US citizen. I think that gives me enough right to say/write whatever I want about US politics, even when they don't affect my other country.
3)Why would I ant to move to a country ruled by a crazy dictator? Mexico's democracy might be weak, but at least it is not just a curtain to protect a dictator (at least, not anymore).
4)My only point was that because of the so called "Reagan doctrine" of doing whatever was necessary to stop communism in Latin America, left-wing anti-American leaders are quite popular.

Yay for Reagan, the "conservative" who started us down the path of deficit spending the country into oblivion... why Republicans still place him on a pedestal is beyond me. Sure he had some good limited government speeches, but he never walked the walk.

How well would you do with a congress that is democrat in majority, Anonymous? You know, one of those other pesky parts of government, designed to keep checks and balances.

Hector:
We own that for supporting fascist dictators. Instead of cultivating democracy and freedom, we pushed people to socialism. There is more than those two choices.

"There is more than those two choices."

Bingo.

Funny how the shitweasels who reliably dump on men like Ronald Reagan have nothing bad to say about a Stalinist little chipmunk like Brakabama.

Surprising? Hardly.

When Obama gives militar and economic support to a dictator in Latin America and trains troops to torture communist guerrillas, I'll be really outraged. For now, I still like him.

No, this is a welcoming bi-lingual blog.

Why do Republicans put Reagan on a pedestal?

Cause he won the fucking Cold War!!!

75 years we had been fighting the Commie bastards, and it took Reagan to put a knife through their hearts.

And now look. We've voted in a Commie bastard as our President.

Reagan's turning over in his grave.

Chuck, Obama's not a Stalinist. Stalin was an asshole, murderous Commie bastard. But he was a real Man. Obama's too much of a girlie man to be like Stalin.

I'd say he's more like the effete' Trotsky.

Remember, Grenada would be Communist now, if it hadn't been for Reagan.

Probably, a healthy chunk of Central America, as well.

Reagan never walked the walk on limited government?

Really?

The top tax rate was 70% when he took office. By the time his first term was over, it was down to 39%.

And don't forget this one, perhaps the very greatest thing he did, besides killing off Communism:

RONALD REAGAN REPEALED THE IDIOTIC 55-MILE PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT AND RETURNED THAT DECISION BACK TO THE STATES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you Ronnie, Thank you Ronnie, Thank you Ronnie...

We weren't fighting the commies for 75 years. Shit, FDR was practically one. :) As far as the cold war, it may come back...It just went into hibernation.

It's never a good idea to put anyone on a pedestal.
