Reagan Conservative stalwarts rally to Ken Blackwell for RNC Chair

Politico.com is reporting that an All-Star line-up of Reagan Conservatives has come out in favor of Kenneth Blackwell of Ohio for Republican National Committee Chairman. The list includes at least three libertarian-conservatives: Steve Forbes, David Keene and Pat Toomey. Also notable, Richard Viguerie is on the list. Viguerie was an early backer of Libertarian Presidential candidate Bob Barr in 2008. Though, he switched to McCain/Palin after the Sarah Palin for VP selection.

From Politico:

The group, which mixes leading economic conservatives, including Steve Forbes and Pat Toomey, and leading social conservatives, including James Dobson and Tony Perkins, had agreed to endorse and campaign together for a candidate based on a questionnaire assembled by veteran GOP activist Morton Blackwell (no relation).

Editor's Note - Libertarian Republican blog has not endorsed any candidate for RNC Chair. But in general we feel that either Blackwell or Michael Steele would be the best choice.

Yeah, I like Michael Steele, but it's starting to look inevitable, Ken's the guy!

And I love it, cause he knows first-hand about corrupt Ohio elections and ACORN.

You mean like how he was both Chief Elections Official of Ohio and honorary co-chair of the "Committee to re-elect George W. Bush" during the 2004 election?

No conflict of interest there, and no scandals or allegations towards him, no siree bob.

Eric is like one of those guys who says "I don't mean to sound racist, but..." or emphatically try to show how not-racist they are by pointing out they have a black friend.

No, what I like about Blackwell besides his demeanor, is the fact that he's well-acquainted with Ohio's voter fraud by ACORN and the Democrats.

I was there petitioning for Bob Barr in July in downtown Cincy. I saw first hand the dirty tactics that ACORN uses, like registering 16 year old girls to vote RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME AT THE CINCY PUBLIC LIBRARY DOWNTOWN.

Blackwell I'm sure will make stopping ACORN fraud a priority.

Personally Ken Blackwell makes a better impression on me than Michael Steele. Blackwell seems like a more solid guy. Note that I do not know about their personal political histories and philosophies in detail. One advantage of having someone from ohio, is that Ohio is a swing state and also geographically from the northern states, where the GOP is not so strong.
(BTW: Just on the view: Blago's selection for senate makes quite good impression on me. He looks like a senator and quite accomplished and he has experience also, very unlike his predecessor. I would not know if he is of the Chicago political machine, so he counts in any case as innocence until proven guilty).

Stefan, did you see Burris's burial cementary monument to himself?

You should definitely check it out.

Nemo,

It's funny you should say that. The "some of my best friends are___" comments are being made at this very same moment on another thread.
